OUR STORY
In 2019, we found a cabin plot on the edge of a national park. It was a special place. Quiet, rugged and full of small details we didn’t want to disturb. But building inevitably meant change: reindeer moss had to be cleared from the plot to make way for the road and the cabin.

REINDEER MOSS ROOF
A reindeer moss roof is a Nordic green roof that brings together natural beauty, a long service life and peace of mind. It is just as much at home on modern architecture as on a cabin deep in the forest. At its best, a reindeer moss roof makes a building look as though it has always been part of the landscape around it.
Many green roofs rely on imported plants that need watering, fertilising or other regular maintenance to stay healthy. Reindeer moss (Cladonia spp.), on the other hand, is adapted to northern conditions and copes remarkably well with drought, frost and large swings in temperature. That is why a reindeer moss roof needs very little care and keeps its look year after year.
